Theater performance: The Silmarillion

ONE MAN show
J. R. R. Tolkien
We would like to invite you to the first theatrical production performed by the Zlin chamber group Free Theatre, which will take place in the Gallery on 4 April 2023 at 7 PM.
The fantasy narrative of the creation of Tolkien’s Arda, Middle-earth and the ensuing war is an allegory of the fragility of human society. The production connects closely with the audience through the direct delivery of its punk extraordinaire, Quid Lotrek. He burrows into the story and takes you through its centre as the narrator, the all-powerful Ilúvatar, the dark Morgoth, the possessed Fëanor and the giant spider Ungoliant.
Don’t miss this fantasy dose alive with words, movement, energy.
Played by: Kvido Lotrek
Directed by: Patrik Francl
Performance length: 70 minutes
Entrance fee is voluntary!

Free Theatre offers a novel repertoire, a team of young artists, questions, answers and above all a warm atmosphere. This alternative theatre scene in Zlin focuses on both classical drama and experimental work. Often it offers a combination of both. “On a small stage, you will see great dramas, comedies and not insignificant experiments. The audience is in close proximity to the actor, sometimes literally drawn into the action. It is the only professional alternative to the big stage of the city theatre,” said Patrik Francl, artistic director of the Free Theatre.
