Night of Scientists 2023

Night full of science is coming to Zlín again. The Night of Scientists will take place on 6 October 2023 throughout the Czech Republic. Nearly eighty organizers from universities, observatories, science centres and other scientific institutions have prepared a scientific programme. The central theme of this year’s Night of Scientists is SECRETS and it is no secret that this year Tomas Bata University has prepared a rich programme for young and old DIYers and researchers. Visitors can look forward to demonstrations and experiments from all corners of science that UTB is dedicated to – from polymers, environment, robots and virtual reality to artistic, economic and humanities disciplines. In addition, they can experience a Science Café lecture marathon, a section of short Pecha Kucha presentations, a screening of films from the current Academia Film Olomouc festival, workshops in the laboratories, an exhibition of artworks created by artificial intelligence or the opportunity to paint or write fairy tales with the help of AI. In the Laboratory Centre of the Faculty of Technology of UTB, experiments from all corners of the university will be prepared for you. You will also have a lot of fun this year in the University Centre of the U13 building (5555 T.G. Masaryk Square).   In the G18 gallery we have prepared a screen printing workshop for you, which is part of the exhibition ¡IMPRESIONES DE AMÉRICA LATINA!. The interactive screen printing workshop is designed for children and adults who want to discover the secrets of screen printing. During the workshop, participants will learn the basic principles of the traditional printing process. Everyone will have the opportunity to try printing a simple design on paper or fabric. The gallery and workshop will be open from 16:00 to 21:00. We look forward to your visits!
